Of course, northern pike over 40-inches seem to be quite rare in Champlain, and so direct measurements of age of 40-inch plus pike are lacking. kind of like the time a I was pulling in a big Red Snapper and a barracuda flashed by and all i landed was a headnever even felt the barracuda hit itsome people i talk to (non fisherman) ask what a Pike is I tell them it the equivalent to afresh water barracuda.
